Swallowing
Swallowing difficulties are called ‘dysphagia’.
We provide thorough assessment of swallow function, followed by recommendations for management.
This service can include in-house Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Studies, or referral for Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing.

Trismus
‘Trismus’, or a reduced mouth opening, can impact on eating, talking, or oral hygiene.
We provide comprehensive assessment and structured intensive therapy programs for the rehabilitation of jaw function.

Speech
Changes to speech can effect all areas of life.
We’ll work with you to understand your current challenges and goals, and do what we can to achieve your most intelligible, natural and functional speech quality.

Voice
‘Dysphonia’ is the medical term for disorders of the voice. It can result from a variety of aetiologies.
A consult with a Ear, Nose & Throat doctor will be required prior to commencing voice therapy.
Our expertise does not stretch to professional voice users.

Tracheostomy
A ‘tracheostomy'‘ is a surgical procedure to make a hole in the front of the windpipe so that a tube can be inserted to help with breathing.
We provide support and education for individuals living with a tracheostomy, including managing any swallowing and/or voice difficulties that might be experienced as a result.

Laryngectomy
A ‘laryngectomy ‘ involves the surgical removal of the voice box.
Adjusting to life after laryngectomy can be challenging.
We aim to partner with your primary health service to provide extra support to you, and your support network, on return home - or at any point in your future.
